SLAC (Sealed Lead Acid Charger)SLAC automatic sealed lead acid battery charger

The SLAC module is a "smart" battery charger system specially designed to automatically maintain a small sealed lead-acid battery at its optimum state of charge.

The unit is installed in your portable equipment along with the battery.  The equipment can then be used as with any other rechargeable battery system.  The difference is that with a sealed lead-acid battery and this charging circuit, the user of the equipment never has to worry about the battery's state of charge.

The only thing one needs to do to maintain the battery in a fully charged, ready to go state is to leave the unit plugged into its wall cube at all times that AC power is available.

It's that simple.  The battery can't be overcharged.  It will always be ready to go when the customer wants to use the equipment.  No more nonsense of trying to fully discharge the battery between chargings.  No more fear of overcharging if you leave the equpment charging for extended periods.  In fact, that's the best thing you can do.  Just leave the unit plugged in at all times, and be confident that the equpment will be fully topped-up when you're ready to use it.

After the equipment has been used in the field, when AC line power is again available, the wall cube is plugged in and the SLAC determines the state of charge of the battery.  The unit then performs charging, equalization, and float maintenance as necessary.  The user of the equipment doesn't need to worry about battery charging.  All that is necessary is to plug the system in whenever AC power is available.  The system can be left plugged in and charging at all times.  There is no possibility of overcharging.

Wouldn't your customers appreciate a piece of portable equipment whose battery system is as easy and convenient as this?
